LEITURAS SOBRE PATRIARCALISMO E VIOLÊNCIAS EM “TELHADO QUEBRADO COM GENTE MORANDO DENTRO”, DE JARID ARRAES

Abstract

A historical and structural problem that surround our society is the violence against women, something tirelessly discussed by several areas of knowledge and in this case, the subject of this article. Based on the tale “Telhado quebrado com gente morando dentro”, from the collection Redemoinho em dia quente, by Jarid Arraes, we go deeper in some social structures that results in violence against women. We examine social aspects and organized, during the centuries, with the objective to ensure the submission of women to men, as well as the inequalities between them. Hence, we approach the theory about the patriarchalism, silence and violence, using theoretical assumptions of Dubar (2009), Ferreira (2018), Olga (2014), Saffioti (2004), Teles e Melo (2017) among others, our objective is to understand how this structure are set and maintained, their context of domination and, above all, how this is still recurrent in contemporary society, ending in the consequences brought to the victim.
