Diatopical marks of " Léxico de lacunas" (1914), by Afonso de Taunay

It is intended, in this work, to present an overview of the diatopic usage marks of the "Léxico de lacunas, subsidios para os diccionarios da lingua portugueza" (1914), by Afonso de Taunay, in order to discuss the register of linguistic variation in lexicographical perspective. In general, the vocabulary is described as a "LEXIC of vulgar terms, current in Brazil, especially in the State of São Paulo, and of acceptances of numerous words, not yet mentioned in the great dictionaries of the Portuguese language" (TAUNAY, 1914, p. 7). The study is based on Atkins and Rundell (2008), Burkhanov (1998), Hartmann and James (2002) and Welker (2011). The methodology consisted of searching for usage marks through keywords in the digital document; tabulation of data, analysis and discussion. As a result, 53 diatopic marks and the identification of similar information in definitions and usage notes were obtained.
