A MESTIÇA FACHADA DE SAN LORENZO DE POTOSI: PARALELOS DISCURSIVOS EM LA CIUDAD UNICA DE WENCESLAO JAIME MOLINS

Abstract

ABSTRACT

This work presents the discursive resistance present on the facade of the Church of San Lorenzo, in the city of Potosí, Bolivia. We propose a critical reflection on the strategies of domination, product of the State / Church association. To do so, we rely on the premises of Bakhtin/Voloshinov (1995) and Foucault (1997). To realise that aim, we used the studies of Bakhtin/Voloshinov (1995) and Foucault (1997). Methodologically, we analyze the discursive parallels between the chronicle of Wenceslao Jaime Molins, in his work La ciudad Unica, and the experience of researcher Cleilton França dos Santos, in Potosí. The “experience” is understood according to the thinking of (LAROSSA, 2002), imbricated with the discursive formation of the researcher that, inevitably, is crossed by the discourse of others, in the perspective of Bakhtin/Voloshinov (2006), unable to stop thinking about a liquid modernity, a term coined by Zygmunt Bauman (2001), without disregarding the urban landscape and modernity, under the assumptions of Marshall Berman (1986), Walter Benjamin (2006) and Applied Linguistics Mestizo de Moita (1998).
