THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMAN PICTURED BY LÍDIA JORGE: THE ETHOS OF LUCIA IN THE TALE HUSBAND

Abstract

In times of appreciation of women's roles and contributions to contemporary society and highlighting issues such as domestic violence, “feminicide” and feminism, Literature of female authorship is consecrated and new authors emerge and new perspectives on how the experience of being a woman is represented in these works. Contributing to these representations, The Tale Husband, by Lidia Jorge, features as main character, Lucia, dedicated wife, who works as a porter and lives with her husband, who is a violent man. The tale brings representations of the feminine and masculine role in patriarchal society and its manifestations in a family where there are problems whose origin is directly related to these roles. The work aims to analyze the character of Ethos Lúcia and the role played by her in the enunciation scene whose tale is represented. For this, the concept of Ethos will be used, from the point of view of the Discourse Analysis of French current, proposed by Dominique Maingueneau.
