Abstract
Introduction: This abstract highlights the discoveries and importance of studies on geoglyphs, especially in the Amazon region, as well as understanding their contributions to the historical and cultural formation of the peoples of the region. Objective: We seek to understand the possible purposes of the buildings and their uses for the people who built and used these spaces, as well as analyze the influences, archaeological findings found within these Geoglyphs. Methodology: This work was elaborated through researches and bibliographical reviews of physical works and in electronic material, as well as analysis of satellite images, where it is visible the form and location of these constructions. Results: As this is a bibliographic review, only information from studies by researchers such as Dr. Ivandra Rampanelli was obtained. One of the findings concerns religious cults that were held in the centers of the Geoglyphs and associated the locations where the Geoglyphs were built and found, often near palm trees, which were considered sacred and made reference to the gods that these people worshiped. Through archaeological excavations, domestic utensils and personal belongings were still found, since the ancient peoples considered the Geoglyphs safe, sacred and pleasant places. Concluding Remarks: Archaeological sites, having been found in the Amazon region and, above all, in areas of the Acre state, awaken us to a possible and rich historical rescue of this region, these peoples and their culture. In addition to being a potential influence for tourist attraction and new research that provides greater awareness for the state and northern region.
