Abstract

This text reports experiences lived during the development of a teaching project aimed at students of a technical course. The project was carried out at the Instituto Federal Farroupilha - Campus Fredrico Westphalen-RS, within the scope of the Technical Course in Administration. Its general objective was to form inclusive territorial agents based on the investigation of the municipality of origin of each student, stimulating curiosity about the physical world (or natural) and the human world (or society), in order to strengthen the bonds of belonging to the places and their territories. The expectation was that students would better handle basic geographic concepts, applying them throughout a learning process that involved the rediscovery of territories from known places and what the landscape of each municipality revealed from the perspective of Geography. With exploratory research guided by theteacher, field work, group dynamics and presentations to the class, it was possible to reach a successful conclusion. The results achieved refer to the exercise of critical and at the same time playful thinking about geographic thinking, its concepts and research methodologies; a greater understanding of how to apply the concepts of place and landscape in the interpretation of their territories, comparing them with each other and questioning themselves about their differences and equalities within the same region.
