Teaching TEACHING UNITS OF MEASURES, REGISTRATION OF SEMIOTIC REPRESENTATION AND INJUNCTIVE TEXTS

The purpose of this educational product is to understand how teachers, when working with mathematical concepts about units of measure in the early years of elementary school, make their representations. This research is methodologically part of a qualitative research approach with a case study. In order to analyze how the teachers, work the mathematical concepts about the units of measures and make their representations we used diverse sources: semi-structured questionnaires, participant observation and elaboration of workshops. The study that resulted in the present product, showed that the teachers work the mathematical concepts on units of measures and make their representations, however still limited to formal conventions described in the textbooks, and that it is possible to develop such concepts in a significant way with the use of injunctive texts, with only the need to know how to approach, relate and apply these, in the teacher - content - student relationship.
