Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the different temporalities fit together in the narratives of “San Junipero”, an episode of the third season of the Black Mirror series, aired by Netflix. From the concepts of strata of time (KOSELLECK, 2014), and discussions on time in its human dimension, as a narrative construction (WILLIAMS, 1990; HELLER, 2000; RICOEUR, 2010; BLOCH, 2017) this essay seeks to comprehend how past, present and future – understood here not as fixed categories but also as spaces of imagination – articulate, strain and implicate themselves in the human action.
