Abstract

Introduction: In the Amazon winter period, which is from December to May, there is a significant increase in rainfall in the region. At this same time of the year, the number of problems caused by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which transmits several diseases, including dengue, is also growing. Objective: Through the aid of the BIOESTAT software, the work seeks to investigate the hydrological regime of the city of Rio Branco, in the state of Acre, from December to May, in order to observe if the climatic factors are related to the increase of the amount of people infected with the virus. Materials and methods: Data will be collected from various hydrological monitoring and disease control agencies. The variables addressed in the survey are cases / confirmed cases/suspects, hospitalizations, deaths and rainfall. Later, this information will feed the program and allow various mathematical calculations. Results: All these processes have already been performed with a dummy database, by applying normality, correlation and linear regression tests, showing satisfactory results for the purpose of the study. However, it is necessary to enter true data from consultation with the competent municipal bodies. Final considerations: Through the analyzes performed in the software, the understanding, and interpretation of the different phenomena can help in the promotion of better strategies to combat the mosquito.
