The objective of this work was to develop and apply a Didactic Sequence (DS) that addressed the concepts of human histology for high school students. The DS was applied to 40 students from the first year of high school at a public school in Natal, RN, through hybrid teaching, using the Google Meet platform and face-to-face meetings due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The DS consisted of a series of activities, including expository and dialogic classes, use of virtual histological atlases, development and presentation of conceptual maps, as well as the construction and socialization of didactic models. The results obtained confirmed the effectiveness of the DS as a pedagogical tool for teaching histology in basic education.
