Abstract

A didactic proposal was developed to introduce Quantum Physics for students in the ninth year of elementary school where it was possible to verify its effectiveness and that it could also be applied in classrooms across the country, in order to assist the teacher in the approach of introduction of Quantum Physics for students aged thirteen to fourteen years old. The proposal was applied in two classes, with a total of forty-five students, in three meetings, totaling six hours of class, and a methodology based on the constructivist concepts of David Ausubel and Lev Vygotsky was adopted. The applicability of the didactic sequence was tested and verified, and its contribution was considered positive for the construction of significant knowledge, with an average increase of 13.3% in the correct answers in the Quantum Physics questionnaires and a learning gain of 0.34. which shows the effectiveness of the aforementioned didactic proposal. Thus, it was concluded that it is possible to teach Quantum Physics for students in the ninth year of elementary school with significant learning and that the educational product developed will be useful to teachers and students.
