The present work proposes to expose the importance of the Institutional Program of Initiation to Teaching Scholarships (PIBID) in the initial training of chemistry teachers, through considerations and impressions on experiences lived by a pibidian in chemistry from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM), Campus Manaus Centro. This version of the PIBID-IFAM started in August 2018, and for that period, its development was divided into two stages. The first one was held at the IFAM itself, and the second one developed at the Military Police College, one of the partner schools in this edition of the program. At school, the division was carried out in three moments: 1) setting, 2) observation in the classroom and 3) pedagogical activity. Through the experiences reported, a deeper understanding of teaching was provided, the complexity of everyday school life, and the reality of a classroom, contributing to the development of resources and skills that helped to train the student in his/her identity as a teacher.
