Keywords:
Physical activity, sedentary lifestyle, population surveillanceAbstract
Chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a global health problem and a threat to human health and development. The objective was to analyze the trend of the different domains of physical activity according to gender in Rio Branco, AC, from 2006 to 2019, considering Vigitel data. Different domains were analyzed: free time, commuting to work and physical inactivity. There was a significant increase in the prevalence of men and women who were physically active during leisure time, with an increase in the annual percentage change of 9.3% for males and 13.4% for females. Reduction of physical activity while commuting to work with annual percentage variation of -23.5% in males and -4% in females and a decreasing trend in physical inactivity, with APC of -10.8% in males and -9 .5% in females. The expressive increases in the temporal trend of leisure-time physical activity in Rio Branco suggest a greater concern with health.
