ORIENTEERING AS A SCHOOL SPORT
Abstract
Orientation sport (EO) is a practice that makes it possible to live in the middle of nature, proposing new experiences in the open air. This study sought to develop content that could cover the sport of orienteering with the school unit. Through our theme presented at school Physical Education, the sport of orientation covered the possibilities for university students to act in the interdisciplinary context. The aim of this study was to innovate classes in the school environment with the practice of sport of orientation through educational dynamics applied in interdisciplinarity. The results could show that the students involved in this practice had significant improvements in school participation and that one of the most favorable points refers to behavioral improvement, which according to the reports of the teachers included in the research was seen positively. Finally, we can identify that the noticeable changes observed in the students' behavior during this study are related to the respect and cooperation that exist within the sport of orientation and that can be inserted in everyone's daily life.
