FABRICANDO ROMANCE: O ARQUÉTIPO FEMININO EM COMÉDIAS ROMÂNTICAS

Abstract

This article seeks to analyze aspects of the construction of romantic comedies and to understand how the elaboration of female archetypes and stereotypes takes place within the genre. Tracing different mediatic images of femininity, archetypes of the romantic heroine and constructions of the social role of women, the article exposes the close relationship between the roles of women in society and the female protagonist in films in a bilateral exchange in which films are built in regard to existing cultural models and the culture about women is based on filmic representations. The different paradigms are associated with their historical contexts and the contextualized approach proposes romantic comedies as this mediation of models of femininity. The impacts of these female stereotypes on the imagination of young women who were educated about love and romance with these cultural products are also explored.

Isabella Ricchiero Stefanini, Unicamp

Graduanda em Comunicação Social - Midialogia na Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2017-). Realizou semestre em intercâmbio na University of Leeds (jan 2019 - jun 2019), com focos em cinema musical e semiologia. Tem experiência na área de Comunicação, com ênfase em Cinema, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: curta-metragem, cinema universitário, cinema campineiro e filme experimental.

Pedro Maciel Guimarães, Unicamp

Professor do Departamento de Multimeios, Cinema e Comunicação e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Multimeios (Instituto de Artes - Unicamp). Possui Graduação em Comunicação Social (Habilitação Jornalismo) pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais, Mestrado e Doutorado em Cinema e Audiovisual pela Universidade Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris III) e Pós-doutorado em Cinema no Departamento de Cinema, TV e Rádio da Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo (CTR-ECA/USP). Coordena do grupo de estudos sobre o ator no audiovisual (GEAs - Unicamp) e participa como membro do Grupo de Pesquisas em Dramaturgia e Cinema (GPDC - Unesp/Araraquara) e do Grupo de Pesquisas em Gêneros Cinematográficos e Audiovisuais (GENECINE - Unicamp), além de pesquisador associado do Laboratório ACCRA/Universidade de Strasbourg (França). É autor do livro Helena Ignez, atriz experimental (ACCRA/Univ.de Strasburgo, 2018) e organizou os livros-catálogos "Douglas Sirk, o príncipe do melodrama (CCBB, 2012) e Cineastas do nosso tempo (CCBB, 2012). Desde 2011, integra o comitê de seleção e curadoria das Mostras de Cinema de Tiradentes, CineOP e CineBH. Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em Análise e Interpretação de Formais Audiovisuais e Sonoras Cinema Video Tv, Historia e Estética do Cinema Mundial, Historia e Estética do Audiovisual Brasileiro; atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: história e estética do cinema e do audiovisual, atores de cinema, cinema de gênero (melodrama, musicais, filme noir), trocas culturais entre Europa e Hollywood e cinema e teatro. Foi coordenador associado da graduação em Midialogia (2017-2019) e é coordenador do Programa de Pós-graduação em Multimeios desde 2019.
