Abstract

The article revisits central aspects of Thomas Kuhn’s classic work, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (KUHN, 1989). It highlights, mainly, the notions of “semantic incommensurability” and “world change”. The text is part of a postdoctoral project underway with the UFRGS Postgraduate Program in Communication, in which we dedicate ourselves to narrative experimentation and the use of fiction as a method within the theoretical field of media archeology. The article is also an attempt to examine certain foundations of contemporary epistemological debate, so that we can move forward from the propositions and the punctual exercises of our inquiry. It is also intended to systematize knowledge that can consolidate the epistemological culture of Communication.

Fabrício Lopes da Silveira, Pós-Doutorando no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.

Jornalista. Mestre e Doutor em Ciências da Comunicação. Vinculado hoje, como pós-doutorando, ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
