The medical course requires theoretical and practical training, making it necessary to constantly develop new educational strategies. The objective was to evaluate the use of an audiovisual resource on sutures as a pedagogical strategy and to analyze its effectiveness. With a Prospective Randomized experimental design, this was applied to students of the discipline “Operative Technique” of the medical course at the Federal University of Acre (UFAC). Applied to 39 students in 5 stages, with 28 participants in the Practical Assessment (GC=9; GT1=11; GT2=8). Those who had contact with an audiovisual resource demonstrated a slightly superior performance, data suggest that the ability to suture increased after the project and 70% of the participants reported that their expectations were met. However, it was not possible to conclude the best pedagogical resource due to selection bias, participation, information and sampling limitations. Evidencing the need for methodological improvement of the research.
