Abstract

Cervical cancer is considered one of the main health problems of women, also called cervical cancer is caused by persistent infection of carcinogenic variants of the human papillomavirus that affects about one million women worldwide. The objective of this article was to describe the epidemiological panorama of cervical cancer cases in Acre from 2015 to 2020. A descriptive time series study of the absolute and relative numbers of cervical cancer in Acre from 2015 to 2020 was carried out Data were obtained from secondary data from the Cancer Information System (SISCAN). It was observed that the year with the lowest record of cervical cancer was 2015, women aged 30-39 years were the ones who had the most cellular changes, the most incident lesion was grade III cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (NIC III). It was noted that women aged 30 to 39 years were the most affected by cervical cancer lesions, most of the women's exams showed some alteration, highlighting normal or benign lesions, few women progressed to more severe cases and Rio Branco, capital of the state, was the city with the highest number of cases.
