Abstract

Considering the importance of valuing Afro-Brazilian culture, as well as building the identity of Brazilian public school students, this work was developed. Thus, we present the planning and development of a didactic intervention for the teaching of chemistry, involving Afro-Brazilian culture, more specifically the art of Rosana Paulino and her representations about racial inequalities. The project, based on the Freirean thematic approach, was developed with high school students and focused on the 'Polymers' content from the theme 'Ethnic-Racial Diversity'. With this, we seek to favor the learning of chemical concepts and stimulate critical thinking by students about issues inherent to the society in which they live.
