Abstract

This work aimed to understand the importance of practical classes for teaching chemistry aimed at high school. The research was carried out at Colégio Estadual Doutor Vasco Filho, located in the city of Apuarema, 344 km from the capital Salvador. A questionnaire was applied to 16 (sixteen) students from the 3rd year of high school containing 5 (five) objective questions, where they could express their opinions on the topic discussed. After collecting the data, it was possible to observe that practical chemistry classes arouse a strong interest among students, showing the role of chemistry in everyday life and being one of the fundamental tools for the teaching-learning process.
