Abstract

Forensic science can be taught to enhance the interest and motivation of chemistry students. This paper presents a survey of the state-of-the-art research on the subject, published in Portuguese and Spanish scientific journals from 2000 to 2018. We analyzed twenty articles based on the following descriptors: year of publication; geographical region; institution of origin; educational level and thematic focus. The data analysis revealed that there is a preference for issues related to didactic strategies. Articles have been produced in all Brazilian geographic regions, but the representation from the Center-West and North region is very low. The most researched levels of education were high school (50%) and general education (25%).
