This paper aims to present a didactic sequence (DS) that was used in the study of the content of inorganic functions. It is a result of an extension project, and it was developed and applied by two academics from the Chemistry Degree course at the State University of Vale do Acaraú, Sobral-CE, to a group of 30 students from the 1st year of high school at a public school in Sobral. The aforementioned SD was carried out during five meetings in which diversified methodological resources were used, such as experiments, games and comic books. At the end, the participating students elaborated 'cartoons', as an instrument to assess the acquired knowledge, and exposed their impressions about the sequence of activities. The results showed that DS was able to contribute to stimulate student participation in classes, greater interaction between them, develop creativity and autonomy, boost the process of understanding the content and the ability to relate the applicability of this knowledge in real everyday situations. An internal and external validation of this DS was carried out, based on Méheut, and it was understood that this DS was presented as an alternative to the traditional teaching model of Chemistry, approved by both the students and the regent teacher of the class (external validation). Internal validation also indicates that both conceptual, procedural and attitudinal objectives were achieved.
