Abstract

This article presents and discusses a methodology adopted in a teacher training course in Rural Education: Nature Sciences, at the Federal University of Fronteira Sul, in the north of Rio Grande do Sul. The proposed activity in the subject “Chemistry in Basic Education I” went to the construction of Comics (Comic) with the theme “pesticides chemistry”, where students should reflect on the chemistry involved in these products, whether in their production, constitution and/or use. After analyzing the materials produced by the students, reflections were perceived that went beyond the chemical concepts involved in this theme, and the students presented reflections on the harm that the use of these agrochemicals on a large scale, in the production of monocultures, has brought to life for the flora and fauna of the regions affected by their use. thus, this methodology was extremely important to contribute to the formation of critical and reflective teachers.
