Abstract

The use of didactic games as an auxiliary tool in the teaching-learning process has been a recurrent practice, especially in basic education. It is known that play activities mediated by games contribute to social, cognitive, motor and affective development, while attracting attention to subjects considered difficult, especially in the teaching of Chemistry. This paper reports the development of the didactic game "One of Molecular Geometry", prepared by undergraduates in Chemistry of the Federal University of Acre (UFAC) for students of the first year of high school, as a reinforcement tool for the learning of the contents about geometry of electron pairs and molecular geometry. The game contributed to students better viewing the content of three-dimensional chemical structuring of molecules, an abstraction for most of them. For the undergraduates of the Chemistry Course, this activity broadened the view of the school routine where, also, it was possible to verify how a didactic game can be a facilitating instrument in the learning process of the students.
