Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition with high prevalence and public health impact, particularly in regions like Acre, marked by socioeconomic and geographical challenges. This study aims to analyze the coverage and care for the diabetic population provided by Primary Healthcare in Acre in 2022, using secondary data from the e-Gestor Atenção Básica system. It is a quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional research that evaluated indicators such as care coverage, risk stratification, consultation frequency, and clinical tests. The results revealed a relatively homogeneous DM prevalence across regions, with frequent associations with comorbidities such as systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) and obesity. A high concentration of young population, a predominance of mixed-race individuals, and significant barriers to healthcare access in rural areas were highlighted. The study also pointed out gaps in clinical management standardization and care integration across diverse levels of the healthcare system. The implementation of protocols based on the Chronic Conditions Care Model (MACC), along with the expansion of Primary Healthcare coverage and the use of digital technologies, such as telemedicine and remote monitoring, is essential to overcome the identified challenges. This study underscores the importance of regional public policies that promote equity and accessibility, contributing to the management of chronic conditions in Acre and similar regions.
