Abstract

The integrated multiprofessional residency in family and community health is a postgraduate program that offers in-service training for health professionals from various fields. Nutritionists play an important role in this context, since the food and nutrition approach is becoming more relevant and is associated with improving the population's epidemiological profile. The aim of this study was to describe an experience report on the role of nutritionists in the Integrated Multiprofessional Residency in Family and Community Health. This is a qualitative, descriptive study in the form of an experience report. During the two years of residency, the professionals worked in two health units, and all the activities carried out by the team were well accepted by the patients. What may have hindered the application of these activities were the adherence of the unit's professionals and the absence of a nutritionist preceptor for a period of nine months. Other challenges presented were due to characteristics that occur in the municipalista of Rio Branco, Acre. The experiences gained during the first and second year of residency provided a differentiated and critical view of health care.
