Extreme erosional features such as gullies are one of the many impacts that natural ecosystems are subjected to when adjacent to urban areas. In the present paper, we described the formation of a gully located within a tropical riparian forest adjacent to na urban area. After understanding its genesis, a low-cost restoration plan was prepared. As for physical measures, an increase in the number of turnout drains (minor system) and reduction of elevation differences between pipes are the soil are the main measures. As for biological measures, we suggest the use of bamboo walls within the gully and planting native pioneer species to stabilize the erosional process and restore the gully, respectively.
