The teaching and learning process of electrochemistry content has been a challenge in chemistry teaching, and by following high school students from a public school, teachers and pibidians proposed a project, which involved the diagnosis, experimentation and evaluation of the apprenticeship. During the diagnosis, a questionnaire and a game were applied, and in both cases, we found the difficulties that the students had in identifying the oxidizing and reducing species, the electron flow and the representation of reactions by equations and even in understanding the phenomenon of energy production in batteries. Thus, we explore experimentation to relate theory to practice. And for the assessment of learning, the students presented different experiments, in which we verified a significant improvement, since they researched and planned the experimental activity to explain to their colleagues, with this they were able to better fix the content.
