Abstract

This article is an excerpt from a research that has been conducted at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Setor Litoral, and is also an expansion of the work presented at the 20th ENEQ. Thus, the general objective was to map the production of space (LEFEBVRE, 2000) of teacher training courses for teaching in the discipline of chemistry in Brazil from 2009 to 2018. Thus, the literature review sought to analyze the production of space in Henri Lefebvre. Also following the methodological path of space production, we analyze the history of the University in Brazil and the impact on the offer of chemistry courses within a historical context, debating the impacts of current curricular policies such as the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC). The data sources for this research are provided from microdata from the higher education census provided by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP-MEC) which were tabulated using quantitative data analysis software. The organized data were presented and discussed in the final section of this article. The conclusion that we reached from the data analysis is that there is a historical production of the space that intended a concentration of on-site offer in the richest regions of the country (south and southeast).
