Abstract

It is desirable that the Chemistry teachers training integrates knowledge and activities to discuss scientific concepts. According to Hadzigeorgiou (2016), classroom activities are integrated with creativity: central to the science teaching. This work investigated how Art can integrate continuing training activities for Chemistry teachers. Thereby, we analyzed a set of activities carried out by ten elementary school chemistry teachers, in which they represented a chemical element through a humanoid drawing, inspired by the work of Yorifuji (2013). From the analyses, we conclude that the Chemistry teachers training can integrate practices involving other knowledges, such as drawing and art. Creativity and imagination, often separated from scientific concepts, can contribute to the discussion of Chemistry in a playful way, associating with the continuing education of teachers.
