The Pacific Road was built in the 2000s to connecting Brazil, Peru and Bolivia and providing the development of the Amazon. This work highlight the importance of evaluating its effects on child health care, which is a useful indicator of changes in the community. The objective of this study is to compare the changes in the health profile of children under 5 years of age living in the urban area of Assis Brazil, AC, during and after the construction. These are two cross-sectional studies carried out in the municipality in 2003 and 2011, with all children covered by the inclusion criteria. Data collection took place by interview with the person in charge and the analyzes were carried out with 95% statistical significance. There was an increase in the number of health professionals in the municipality and an increase of more than 100% in the number of participants and children who had already had an appointment with the dentist. The vaccination figures have not changed significantly. We concluded the promotion of positive impacts, such as improvements in the health service of the basic and hospital network and negative ones, such as disorderly growth and worsening health conditions in the households.
