Abstract

The species Ouratea lancifolia belonging to the Ochnaceae Family inhabiting areas of the Cerrado domain in Brazil, the Taxon presents yellow inflorescences with aromatic flowers annually. The flowers of O. lancifolia were collected in the morning. The 70% hydroethanolic extract was prepared by maceration. Analyzes of yield, dry mass, moisture content, pH, total solids, refractive index, relative density, total flavonoids, reduction of free radical DPPH, total phenolic compounds, qualitative phytochemistry, photoprotective assay, thin layer chromatography and activity hemolytic on human erythrocytes. The following results were obtained: yield of 4.55%, dry mass of 18.46%, moisture content of 81.54%, pH of 5.33, total solids of 1.03%, refractive index of 1.6779 nD, relative density of 0.8416 g mL-1, total flavonoids of  521.60 mg 100 g-1, antioxidant activity with IC50 of 5.46 µg mL-1, total phenolic compounds of 377.19 mg GAE 100 g-1 , several classes of positive phytochemicals, the photoprotective assay showed results for absorption in UVA, UVB and UVC, thin layer chromatography with 22 Rfs for the eluent acetone/chloroform and hemolytic activity between 71.05% to 11.76% for concentrations from 1000 to 5 µg mL-1. The floral extract of Ouratea lancifolia showed good physicochemical and biological results.
