Abstract

Studying Biological and Nature Sciences, especially Chemistry, is usually seen, by the vast majority of students, as something boring, discouraging or very difficult, due to the teaching method based on the transmission and reception of knowledge, formulas and equations. Currently, with the commitment of teachers who are challenged to improve this view of students about their disciplines, they seek innovative ways to draw students' attention to the study of these Sciences. In this context, this paper reports the construction and use of the board game entitled Quest of chemical bonds that aims to review and reinforce the content of chemical bonds for first year high school students. In this study, we used a qualitative methodology of action research. As a result of the application of the game, it is observed that didactic-pedagogical resources of this type, allows students a more solid construction of knowledge, helping them to overcome the difficulties of abstractions of the theoretical framework, besides contributing to the socio-emotional development necessary for a full education, at the same time that it allowed the graduates of the course to experience the school reality, their future field of action.
