Abstract

This article is the result of a pedagogical extension project in the health area, which aimed to understand the importance of sports as a factor in promoting health and preventing diseases, from reading comics. The methodology used was the application of a questionnaire before and after the supply of comics to patients at UBS Luana de Souza Freitas, located in the Conquista neighborhood, Rio Branco-AC. The comic books were created by medical students from the Federal University of Acre enrolled in the discipline of "Physical Activity in Health Promotion", taught by Prof. Dr. Miguel Junior Sordi Bortolini. The results obtained from comparisons between the first and second questionnaires applied, showed the occurrence of learning and adoptions of physical activities by the patients. Based on the fact that comic books are simple and recreational communication vehicles, this report will serve as an incentive for health professionals to adopt similar projects. After all, there was a need to introduce increasingly accessible and playful ways that bring science closer to the general population, as well as greater investments in actions aimed at stimulating health.
